Slather my face with honey? WHAT?!

I have been struggling with acne for years, many years. I get terrible cystic acne along my jaw line and on my neck. I have tried everything from birth control, to over the counter treatments, to prescription creams and gels. Nothing really showed me significant changes in my skin except birth control. After long consideration about the subject I decided I no longer wanted to be on the pill anymore. SOOO that left me wondering what I could do to keep my skin from breaking out constantly. Of course after quitting the pill, over time my skin started breaking out without the hormones from the pill streaming through my system. I started researching at-home natural skin care. I came across a couple articles talking about using honey as a mask for acne. HONEY? I wasn't sold, but I had to try it.

I went to the grocery store soon after and purchased some organic honey. I got home and tried it that night. By the next morning the size of my pimples/cysts were significantly smaller and less red. The pain that comes along with the cystic acne was lessened as well. After 2 nights using the magic honey mask the blemishes on my face were almost completely gone and my skin felt smoother.

HONEY HELPED CLEAR UP MY FACE! Ha Ha. After years and probably thousands of dollars worth of product, a natural, tasty treat was becoming my skin care savior.

From what I read, honey is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. It doesn't dry out the skin like over the counter treatments do.

So here's the run down!

What you'll need:
Organic Honey--- I purchased mine at the grocery store. Just make sure it says Organic on the bottle.
A bowl
A Q-Tip or paint brush or fingers, use your own or find a friend! haha :)

Pour 1-2 Tablespoons of honey into a bowl
Microwave for 5-7 seconds to loosen it up, allow it to cool slightly (optional)

Cleanse your face, Pat dry.

*For spot treatment: Apply the honey with a Q-Tip to the blemishes
Leave on for 15-45 minutes
Rinse off with warm water

*For mask: Apply the honey with a paint brush or fingertips focusing on the areas that are acne prone.
Leave on 15-45 minutes
Rinse with warm water

This method may not work for everyone, but it has worked for me. My skin hates me most of the time. I feel very thankful to have found something that is really working and helping me clear things up! :) I also started drinking more water and I have rather healthy eating habits. The more "good stuff" you put in the better your skin will look and the better you'll feel!

Best of luck!
*Heather
